What is the difference between modular homes and prefabricated homes? Which ones are cheaper?

Prefabricated homes are a large category of homes that include modular, panelized, and manufactured homes.
Modular homes are more expensive to build, but they gain value like a on site built home. The home comes in several pieces that are assembled and meets local codes. Often they are built better than on site constructed homes.
Manufactured homes come on site in one or two large sections. They lose value as they age, but they are cheaper initially.

No difference. They are the same. What do you mean by pre-fab? Modulars are pre-fab.
